Interesting side note… or maybe even MORE important than this code thing… the usage and exchange of business cards is rapidly dropping.
Like me, other people are starting to do the "let me just connect to you on LinkedIn" exercise instead of physically handing over business cards which they're simply going to use to go online to linked in and connect there ultimately anyway. Kind of interesting to watch because they're asking for the exact spelling of your name and looking at your picture and smiling when they find you also.
Another great benefit of this is that they start looking at you and what you do based on your profile on linked in and they're picking up on things you might not have mentioned. I have found this to be a great conversation opener, much better than just a simple introduction and elevator pitch.
Leverage all of the tools you have to streamline your life and increase and enhance your conversations. Even the very 1st ones. Happy introductions everyone!
