On Thirds Over Quarters. It's another 'Keep an Open Mind Moment'.
And just like that, we awaken this morning to the final week of April 2023.
One third of the year will be behind us at the end of this week.

I rather prefer Thirds than Quarters for planning.
Why?

First, with Quarters- an artificial measuring device, things get too 'mushy' and there is too much hope with the false sense of 'we have 3, 2, 1 more quarters to catch up'. Do significant business changes and adjustments have time to be fairly executed, or is this, as I have witnessed, merely a perfunctory exercise meant to at once appease the ownership and frighten the team momentarily.

With a Strategy of Thirds, the landscape and timelines are cleaner and more deliberate.

It is clear there is
✨The Beginning
This takes honest, clear, straightforward and organized planning, expectations and accountability.

Next up, with 4 months of solid progress underfoot, there can be a serious, legitimate
✨'How It Is Really Going'
without artifice and assuaging statements and with ample time to make necessary adjustments.

And finally, with meaning, there can be oversight and time to deliver a poignant
✨The Final Stretch
Where everyone, unilaterally has clear knowledge of necessary date along with support for their objectives and outcomes.

Teamwork takes the lead as there is desire to collaborate from fellow business units to collectively accomplish- and exceed- company targets.

📈I welcome conversations with fellow business leaders interested in overlaying our Strategy of Thirds to their company or even a business unit.

Some goals are too far in the future to be meaningful.
Some are too short to provide effective delivery.

We think 'Thirds' are just right.

Are you open to considering alternate options if they led to increased successes?
