On Hiring Struggles.
It happens every day.
🤷🏼♂️"We can't find good people."
"We can't find people willing to work."
🤔Yet I look around, and there are few women and they are statistically holding lower paying, often entry level or narrowly siloed (office managers) roles. 👀
The salaries you are paying them barely cover rent today.
When you hear this phrase,
"I don't have a problem hiring women."
Or, "I would hire women, but I can't find them,"
You have a problem you haven't yet fully faced in the mirror.
🎯You need a clear strategy, with far more structure and commitment than, "Well we would hire them if they applied."
👩🏼🦰👩🏼🦳👩🏼Many of you were raised by strong working women, and you are so very proud of them. You tell us they made all the difference for you- they toiled, worked 2 jobs and sacrificed to help make you what you are today.
🚺And many of you were raised by strong SINGLE working women and we heard your accolades on Mother's Day, yet you are not hiring those like your own Mothers, Daughters, Sisters.
Why don't women think your company has good opportunities for them? Have you ever asked?
We can safely assume you're not this passive with other business goals, especially when it is something as important as the people you choose to run, lead and represent your company.
📉Meanwhile, seats go unfilled, underperformance is rampant and employee retention is high.
Why?
✨Because we are not attracting the very talent that could make an impact.
We already know what men could and have done for Auto. Much of it good, but, much of it🤦🏼♂️ well, women did not contribute to the ongoing distrust customers have for the industry- because they weren't there.
