First of all, let's agree to Stop Guessing or Assuming.
Next, follow our Success Formula carefully.
✨Choose one of your leaders.
✨Step out of the office with them and go somewhere nearby.
✨Spend $10 on a few cups of coffee.
✨Sit down.
👉Breathe-and let them breathe also.
✨Slow down the pace and enjoy casual talk.
✨Fight the urge to have your 'agenda'.
✨Let the conversation find its way back to business, but let it be what is on their mind today, not yours.
✨Listen carefully.
✨Now listen like the Leader you are, the Leader they need you to be.
✨Don't try to solve anything.
Marinate on the conversation overnight.
✨Think about their perspective.
✨Where are you in alignment?
✨Where are they heading in another direction?
✨How did they enlighten you?
Now, jot a few notes down to yourself, and then ask them to meet for Coffee # 2.
Continue listening, and listen from a far more informed position as a trustworthy, calm, confident and capable Leader.
Now it's time to talk with them...not at them...with them.
You will suddenly start to find your people opening up sooner and more frequently, which is precisely what you want from those you have entrusted with Leadership roles.

"If it’s ok with you, can we just get it out of the way… Happy New Year!
I don’t mean to be cavalier about a brand new year; a chance to let go of all the limiting beliefs that no longer serve you, to make positive changes, to put pen to paper and write down everything you desire to do & be in 2023…
BUT if we’re waiting for just ONE, seemingly anointed day, each year, to find a way to make our best life an everyday reality, then we’re squandering 364 perfectly good days! That’s really putting a lot of pressure on ONE day that looks pretty much like all the other days—only with more drunk kissing your “straight” friend in a bar bathroom stall, enveloped by the scent of Sex on the Beach, stale cigarettes, and lost dreams (sorry, that was 20-something Tania talking).
So, let’s pull the pin out of that big NYE ball, releasing the myth of THIS IS MY ONE SHOT TO DO EVERYTHING RIGHT, ALL AT ONCE, OR LIVE 364 MISERABLE DAYS.
Instead, I’m going to share with you ONE question that, when you answer honestly, will lead you to your best life and work. It comes from my BRILLIANT friend, Robert Nicoletti, CEO & Founder WHYFOR Ventures. He’s the kind of friend that loves the F out of you and, because he knows and loves you so much, will call you out on your bullshit.
So, when I went on the job market, he said...
Rob: What the F*!$ are you doing, Katan?
Me: Looking for work…for an opportunity, one that values my skills.
Rob: A job is not an opportunity. It’s a job. You’re a genius. You don’t get a job. You get clear on what you need in order to do your best work.
Me: Ok, well, you’re a genius too! So… how do I do that?
Rob: You answer one question...
To live my best life and do my best work, I need to:
And without overthinking, I wrote for about 5 minutes and stopped. Whatever I had written felt complete. I read (the image above) to Rob and quickly realized that those 5 bullet points are without-any-doubt exactly what I need to live my best life and do my best work! They each hold space for many different forms. Like, “Make people laugh and think differently.” This can, and has, taken the form of writing books, public speaking, coaching, etc.
Now, when pursuing opportunities—or jobs—or plotting out my life I look at this list and if all 5 are a YES, then I’m a YES, too!
So, instead of taking days to write your 2023 RESOLUTIONS only to abandon them a few weeks in, take 5-minutes to answer ONE vital question. The emotional and professional ROI on those 5-minutes will pay you dividends for the rest of your BEST life and work!
