On Unexpected Encouragement and Compliments: Don't let the extreme heat take your eyes off of how refreshing your words can be.

It is remarkable to see the look on someone's face when you simply say, "I really appreciate you and how you do what you do."

Your 10-20 second oasis will be as appreciated as an icy glass of water on these hot summer days.

We often underestimate the impact of these moments.

Choose someone in your mind right now and make sure you deliver today!

Phone, Teams call, in person...just do it!

By the way, have I told you how much appreciate you and how much I love the way you do what you do and the value you are bringing?!

Because I do.
You're terrific!

Thank you all for making a difference out there, by design! You're so 'Cool'!

On General Managers in Auto Retail.
For all of the attention and 'power' they receive, their burden is enormous. If they're doing it right, that is.

When they reach us, they are looking for a way out, without going out.

We're not talking about the sweaty, alpha, loud GMs that somehow still walk the industry floors.

This is about the hard-working, intelligent General Managers with strong financial acumen, business-forward, customer and team-focused, Fixed Ops abilities, Sales Ops, Marketing Strategy, OEM relationship bearers, Financial office plus Back office responsibilities and delivering all of this up to and under the direction of a Dealer Principal.

A DP who may be actively in tune with the business, or not.

⌚We have not even mentioned the hours.
Yes, in many cases the compensation is very good. Very, very good.

But the fact remains they are humans.
They still get tired.
They still need and look for ongoing training and development.
They need a fair, predictable environment for themselves and to be able to lead their team.
In most cases they need an official Executive Assistant.

They need ongoing Leadership Coaching.

They have never been exactly where they are now.
Everything changes, all of the time.
We don't need to list out all of the factors, but we could.
We expect them to be completely equipped for a million situations, but how...and when?

Being the Business Director and Culture Coordinator and Manager Mentor takes a continual sharpening and growth of Leadership skills.

When GMs reach us, they still love the industry. They want to do even more. But they are looking for a partner to remind them, guide them, lift them.

Let's give them our best to ensure we all get the best out of each other.

Hats off today to the #GMs out there doing great work!
We see you and we are here for you.

Rob Dyrdek is a fascinating wildly successful entrepreneur to follow.

How did I hear about him?
Sitting in the dark, rocking my new granddaughter with my son in Eliza's earliest days.

The show was ridiculous.
Maybe that's why they call it @Ridiculousness

The show did not meet my normal appetite for entertainment. But my son told me more about this man as we sat there with the baby trying to get her to sleep.

He is a world-class athlete.
Rob is a serial entrepreneur.

He has one of the most amazing abilities to improve himself even beyond immense success he has created.

He has driven, he is disciplined, he is calculated. He makes tactical use of every second of his day.

At times as humans, we tend to gravitate towards that which is most comfortable in familiar to us.

I stretched my boundaries yet again and learned about an absolutely amazing man who has only just Begun his journey.

Thank you to my dear, successful entrepreneur son, Kurt Newhouse, for opening up my eyes yet again to an entire world of endless possibilities.

A Million Dollar Presentation? I'll pop that on a vision board. This presentation was on your Career and the Multi-Million Dollar Business that it is.

Speaking at many conferences and events means we are always creating fresh material for our audiences.

✨After reviewing our library of recent presentations, we thought we would offer a unique opportunity to our network: Access to presentations we delivered for those who attended and those unable to join.

We have now begun sharing selected presentations to qualified requestors. We have well over 200, so you may see common threads and start to recognize our language and approach.

Most important of all, beyond being capable, we trust you will see our care for every individual and company we support.

I hope you are able to enjoy and benefit from our insight and hard work.

On Your Personal Professional Portfolio
Recently, we began creating catalogues for the work we have done.
It started with our LinkedIn work- 3000+ posts with millions of interactions.
Next, we took on the formidable task of arranging all of the presentations I have done.

We added several items we thought were 'track-worthy'
✨The event where I was requested to speak
✨Purpose
✨Internal Corporate Event or Industry Conference, et al
✨Location + onsite/virtual
✨Content anchor: Our material or their concept and we develop
✨PowerPoint
✨Length- Hours, minutes
✨Additional Collateral: Hand outs, charts, et al
✨Audience: Quantity + demographics
✨Response to the presentation
✨Our review of our ROI
✨Paid or Comped Attendance

Until now, not only had I not applied this level of rigor to tracking and measuring the work I have done, I was taken aback by the sheer volume of opportunities I've had...grateful, also.

The number continues to grow, and now, for those interested in inviting me to contribute to their event, we have a digital
#library for their reference.

Since we started this robust project, I began enrolling my Executive Leadership Clients to do the same to map their career accomplishments.

Their results are already coming in and their insights echo mine: They have accomplished even more than they realized!

✨The Processes they initiated
✨The Strategies they deployed
✨The People and Teams the built
✨ The Mergers/Sales they executed successfully
✨The Network of Trusted Colleagues they built along the way
✨Their Operating Systems, their OS, had much more to take credit for.
And their is nothing wrong with finally receiving recognition for the body of work accrued and the impact it has made.

Start your own Personal Portfolio today and let us know what you find.

Speaking of mine- I am looking forward to the @Auto Remarketing Dealer Training Series on Leadership today. My presentation: Leveling Up Your Automotive Leadership Career!

Our vacation memories can easily cloud the fact that Lahaina is home for these people year-round.

The absolute horror of this fiery disaster and the horrific amount of damage done has yet to be known.

Please keep these people in your thoughts and donate with abandon.

If everyone just donated to equivalent of one night's hotel, imagine what we could do together.

What are some of the barriers leaders who reach out to us encounter when considering whether or not to invest in their careers?
👉Are these reasons or excuses? Let us know what you think.

✨Time Constraints: Busy schedules and demanding responsibilities can make leaders feel like they don't have enough time to focus on their own career development.

✨Cost and Resources: Professional development costs are foreign to many. Some leaders may be hesitant to invest money in themselves, especially if they perceive the return on investment as uncertain.

✨Comfort Zone: Leaders may feel comfortable in their current roles and routines, leading them to resist stepping out of their comfort zones to pursue new opportunities or skills.

✨Short-Term Focus: Some leaders prioritize immediate tasks and goals over long-term career growth. This short-term mindset can lead them to neglect investing in skills and knowledge that may benefit them in the long run.

✨Lack of Awareness: Not all leaders are fully aware of opportunities and resources available for career development. They might not know about relevant workshops, courses, or programs that could help them progress.

✨Overconfidence: Overestimating one's abilities and underestimating the need for ongoing learning and improvement can hinder career growth. Some leaders might believe they already know everything they need to succeed.

✨Perceived Irrelevance: Leaders may believe that certain skills or knowledge are not directly relevant to their current role or industry. This can lead to neglecting valuable areas of development.

✨Fear of Failure: The prospect of trying something new and potentially failing can be intimidating. Leaders may hesitate to invest in their careers due to a fear of not succeeding or making mistakes.

✨Organizational Culture: Many organizations do not emphasize or support career development for its leaders. If an organization does not prioritize ongoing growth, leaders might be less motivated to invest in themselves.

✨Limited Role Models: Lack of role models who have successfully invested in their careers may lead to skepticism about the benefits of such investments.

✨Age and Experience: More experienced leaders might feel they have already reached a certain level of proficiency and that further career investment is unnecessary.

✨Stagnation: A sense of being stuck or plateauing in one's current position can lead to complacency, making leaders less inclined to invest in their careers.

✨Changing Goals: Personal or professional goals may shift over time, causing leaders to question the relevance of investing in their careers based on their evolving aspirations.

✨Competing Priorities: Leaders often have numerous responsibilities and obligations, making it challenging to prioritize career development amidst other pressing demands.

Overcoming these objections and barriers often involves a shift in mindset, a commitment to continuous learning, and a strategic approach to career planning.

Our Series of Tips for Conferences and Important Presentations.
With the busy conference season quickly approaching, we will be sharing many of our tips and insights to make it your best year yet.

Today, we are sharing this helpful article from the Harvard Business Review team.

One section that particularly stood out to us focuses on your Presenter.

Here is an excerpt:
✨Stage Presence
For inexperienced speakers, the physical act of being onstage can be the most difficult part of giving a presentation—but people tend to overestimate its importance. Getting the words, story, and substance right is a much bigger determinant of success or failure than how you stand or whether you’re visibly nervous. And when it comes to stage presence, a little coaching can go a long way.

The biggest mistake we see in early rehearsals is that people move their bodies too much. They sway from side to side, or shift their weight from one leg to the other. People do this naturally when they’re nervous, but it’s distracting and makes the speaker seem weak. Simply getting a person to keep his or her lower body motionless can dramatically improve stage presence. There are some people who are able to walk around a stage during a presentation, and that’s fine if it comes naturally. But the vast majority are better off standing still and relying on hand gestures for emphasis.

I am proud of the guidance we offer to companies to ensure their peak performance and results from their large investment of time and resources. For a fraction of the cost of your conference spend, we can drive results that make a difference.

#EverythingMatters when you are looking for a new level of ROI from these important events.

Our Word of the Day is 'Since'.
As you might know, it is important for me to be candid with my clients. Like most companies they face ups and downs throughout the year.

Is it easy to get wrapped up in unproductive conversations when challenges arise.

Enter our 'Since' approach.

By removing the emotion and interpersonal relationships, we get to the heart of the challenges at hand and opportunities that lie right in front of us.

When we say the word 'Since' out loud before stating the problem at hand, our minds can quickly transition into a solving and moving forward modality.

It is an empowering exercise to whiteboard all of the things we can do instead of focusing on what happened and why and who did it.

The list of 'Why' is another conversation.

For all of the proactivity and planning we recommend, there times when the best approach is to deal with exactly what is in front of us in a clear eyed manner to set the table for moving forward.

The first step is placing our focus towards 'Since' this happened what should we do next.

In reality, things happen.

A 'Since' mindset removes the clutter from your mind so we can get down to the business of solving and avoiding these in the future, while taking healthy, rewarding steps ✨️FORWARD today.

What is your 'Since' opportunity for the day?

Our ✨FORWARD Executive Careers Thought of the Day:
🎯Work-Life Harmony
In my world and most of my clients', work-life balance seems to add an additional burden, another data point to track. I liken this endless quest for balance as the person on a tightrope at 100' above ground, and without training.

📣Everyone is yelling up at them reminding of where they were supposed to be.

🙋🏼‍♂️🙋🏼‍♀️Everyone is clamoring for their attention.

🥺Everyone on the ground feels slighted somehow.

💥⚖️The person on the wire feels like no matter what they do or which direction they aim, they're not quite where they were supposed to be.

Why all of these negative connotations?
Because balance is far too unpredictable, uncontrollable and fragile, making the goal of balance binary and unattainable.

We help busy, talented and driven Executives like you seek harmony over balance. This makes for a more seamless, even-keeled approach to their personal and professional lives.

I woul love to hear your thoughts on our Thought of the Day, #WorkLifeHarmony.

Does this feel more attainable, and what steps could you take to live in this lane?
